‘Responsible Stakeholder Participation for Wildlife Conservation’ held

Bhubaneswar (TF Bureau): Nature protection and conservation is the responsibility of every citizen. With an effort to bring together different stakeholders a workshop on ‘Responsible Stakeholder Participation for Wildlife Conservation’ was held on Sunday at Regional Museum of Natural History (RMNH) here on the occasion of Wildlife Week-2022.

The workshop was organized by GROW with Nature and Wildlife Conservation Society of Odisha in collaboration with RMNH.

Eminent personalities like Saroj Patnaik former PCCF (wildlife), Dr. Arun Mishra, RCCF Rourkela, Dr Manoj Das, former principal JNV, Gaurav, scientist, RMNH, Kamal Lochan Purohit, Rakhi Ghosh freelance journalist inaugurated the workshop.

NGOs, individuals, lawyers, researchers, artists and schools from different part of Odisha took part in this workshop and shared their own challenges and solution measures for a harmonious and sustainable living between human and wildlife and nature. The workshop was conducted by Gayatri Devi, Chairman GROW with Nature.

Antaryami Sahoo, retired teacher, popularly called Gaccha Sir, was felicitated for his lifelong contribution to nature and conservation.

Institutions like TATA Steel Mining Ltd, JNVM and RMNH were felicitated for their community participation, green campus and green museum initiatives. Journalists like Shakti Prasad Mahapatra of OTV, Joy Mohanty of Kalinga TV, Pragati Prava freelance journalist and Prativa Ghosh of Sakala newspaper were felicitated for their responsible journalism on nature and wildlife. Visual artists Rajkumar Behera, retired painter of Nandankanan and Kalyani Acharya were felicitated for nature awareness through art and craft.
