BJP Chief Nitin Nabin Praises Mohan Majhi Govt, Calls For Strong Village Outreach

Bhubaneswar (Special Correspondent, The Fact Bureau): BJP president Nitin Nabin on Monday lauded the Mohan Charan Majhi-led Odisha government, saying the state was reaching ‘new heights of development’ under its leadership. He also asked BJP ministers and MLAs to strengthen their connect with rural areas ahead of the upcoming panchayat elections.

During his two-day visit to Odisha, his first after taking charge as the BJP state president, Nabin attended a series of organisational meetings in Bhubaneswar and Jatni, interacting with party workers, leaders, legislators and the chief minister on strategies to further expand the party’s grassroots presence.

At a meeting of the BJP State Core Committee held at the party’s state office in Bhubaneswar, discussions were held on organisational matters and preparations for future elections.

In a post on X, Nabin said, “Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi Ji, the double-engine government is taking Odisha to a new peak of development.” The BJP government in Odisha is set to complete two years in office on June 12.

Sources said Nabin also held a separate meeting with members of the council of ministers before concluding his Odisha visit. Addressing a BJP workers’ training camp in Jatni earlier in the day, the BJP chief warned party leaders about what he described as the “changing character” of opposition parties.

“In the past, the opposition parties used to play a constructive role and cooperate with the governments. But now the behaviour and tone of the opposition parties have changed drastically. A negative attitude is clearly visible in them,” he was quoted as saying in an official BJP statement.

Accusing opposition parties of misleading the youth, Nabin urged BJP workers to actively use social media platforms “to effectively counter the opposition’s lies”. Highlighting the BJP’s global stature, he said the party’s leaders and workers carry a “huge responsibility”.

At the training camp venue at the Asian Institute of Public Health University in Jatni, Nabin inaugurated an exhibition showcasing the BJP’s ideological journey and welfare initiatives undertaken during the Narendra Modi government’s tenure.

“This event showcases the ideological journey of the organisation and effectively presents the welfare work and achievements of the last 12 years under the leadership of PM Modi and the developmental efforts made in Odisha in the past 2 years,” he said.

State BJP president Samal said the visit of the party chief would energise workers and leaders at the grassroots level across Odisha.
