CII Odisha Mining and Construction Equipment Expo 2026 inaugurated; Industry leaders call for strategic dialogue and partnership

The Fact Bureau/Bhubaneswar: The first edition of CII Odisha Mining and Construction Equipment Expo (OMCE) 2026 was inaugurated by Hemant Sharma, IAS, Additional Principal Secretary, Department of Home, Industries and I&PR, Government of Odisha in Bhubaneswar. CII Trade Fair Council President V Thiagarajan and CII Odisha State Council President Anil Kumar Singh were also present on the occasion.

The event marks a significant milestone for the mining and construction equipment sector in Eastern India. The three-day expo, organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), brings together key stakeholders of the industry to showcase innovations, develop partnerships and promote sustainable growth.

Shri Sharma graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. After the inauguration, the dignitaries toured the exhibition, interacted with the exhibitors and witnessed a live demonstration of the latest equipment, technology and innovative solutions presented by leading international and Indian companies.

Later a special CEO Roundtable was held under the chairmanship of Shri Sharma, along with CII officials.

In his address, Shri Sharma highlighted the commitment of the Odisha Government to create an inclusive ecosystem for industrial development and investment. He appreciated the initiative taken by CII to host a centralized B2B platform, which brings together manufacturers, policymakers and consumers under one roof.

The roundtable meeting served as a high-level forum for industry leaders to have a constructive discussion on key challenges, policy support, technology adoption and opportunities to strengthen the mining and construction equipment ecosystem in the region. The discussions focused on improving ease of doing business, promoting sustainable mining practices, skill development and infrastructure development.

OMCE 2026 has witnessed the participation of over 150 exhibitors and attracted over 10,000 trade visitors. The expo showcased a wide range of equipment, technologies and solutions from leading companies from the mining, construction and geotechnical sectors. Odisha Metal Expo 2026 further enriched the platform by bringing together stakeholders from the metals and allied industries. The event will continue for the next two days with B2B and B2G meetings, technical sessions and networking opportunities, which aim to promote partnerships, innovation and investment in the sector. OMCE 2026 is set to become a major regional platform that will strengthen Odisha’s position as a hub for industrial growth and enable the next phase of development in the mining and infrastructure sectors through technology-driven and sustainable practices.
